About Us

Having trained together in the local building industry, friends Ian Burfitt and Steve Garrett established Burfitt & Garrett Ltd in the early 1980s, with the aim of providing a high-quality, personalised local building service.

As the company grew, Linda Fitz-Johnson took on the role of Finance Manager, Tim Venton joined as Estimator/Surveyor, and Peter Crosse as Contracts Manager.

Since then, Louis Garrett has joined the team as Estimator/Surveyor and Claire Graham as Estimating Assistant. Our Admin team of Dawn Crosse - Office Manager, Marie Pont - Accounts Manager and Administrators Jasmin Burrow and Sophie Blick are here to help with any queries you may have.

Our experienced tradesmen regularly update their skills with industry-standard training and cover all trades including Groundwork, Bricklaying/Stonework, Roofers, Carpenters/Joiners, Plasterers, Painters/Decorators, Tilers, Plumbers, Heating Engineers and Electricians.

Many members of our team have been with us for over a decade and students of our apprenticeship schemes tend to stay with us after they qualify.

We would like to thank Burfitt and Garrett for the efficient way the whole contract was completed, including particularly the removal of the old flat roof and insertion of the new lower ceiling within the week’s holiday and the general tidiness and on time completion.
