About the project
Burfitt and Garrett Ltd completed this new build Garage, Workshop and Studio in 2024. The project consisted of demolishing the existing tired outbuildings and replacing them with this multi purpose new build structure.
The existing road side boundary wall was extensively underpinned, repaired, repointed and waterproofed to form the rear wall of the new structure.
The new building consisted of a well insulation cavity wall structure, with stained Douglas fir cladding and Accoya timber windows and doors. The east face of the building was constructed in natural Greenstone, with brickwork plinths. The flat roof was finished in zinc, with matching guttering and downpipes.
The courtyard has been transformed with the old concrete being removed and replaced with Cotswold gravel. New entrance ramps and steps have been built using cottage bricks.
